Professional Experience
Current Employer : US Consumer Product Safety Commission
Role: Systems Integration Architect & Developer
Strategy and Standards:
- Proposed and lead the agency’s Restful web api architecture guide for the open data initiative.
- Suggested and developed the central user authentication microservice of the agency.
- Promoted and defended the use of lightweight message based communication between systems for sharing data as opposed to numerous scheduled ETL jobs.
- Implemented lightweight contextual end point monitoring for all of the agency’s public facing sites using Azure Functions & sendGrid.
- Researched and demonstrated how Azure Machine Learning performs effective and user friendly Twitter sentiment analysis.
- Designed and developed a lightweight resource monitoring tool, currently open sourced on my Github.
- Used a combination of the ELK (elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana) and custom ETL(using spark & java) tool to stand up a production ready data analytics engine and search engine.
- Support and enhance the product safety risk management system including overseeing contractors.
- Evaluating different NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB, ES, Solr, Noe4j and Redis to replace SQL server in certain application domains.
- Discover and implement opportunities for systems integration points using RESTful services and a message bus infrastructure.
- Discover common domains among systems and break domains into bounded context for abstraction and cohesive architecture to prevent very long system downtime during deployment. Coordinated the migration of numerous contracting teams from .NET 4 to .NET 4.6, Visual Studio 2010 to Visual Studio 2015
Committed Volunteering: Hdwih.com
Role: Principal Web Developer
- Gather new requirements by having regular meetings on Skype from nonprofit organization’s founders to design and implement a website in ASP.NET that cements the organization’s presence on the web.
- Migrated the website to Microsoft Azure using automated Powershell scripts.
- Migrated the database from Sql Server to MongoDB on Linux.
- Implement web and accessibility standards without compromising founder’s design demands. Recruited a Web and Graphic design student as an intern to help design the layout and logos.
- I implemented user roles and authentication features using the ASP.NET membership and role provider and by configuring IIS security on the remote host machine.
- Consistently improving design based on previously documented technical design documents and specifications. Design, implement and administer the SQL server database that stores client membership information, event and related objects.
- Design and implement multi language reference tables and stored procedures that retrieve information based on website language settings.
- Design and implement data access layer using SQL Server Stored Procedures, ADO.NET and the ENTITY Framework (4.0), Structured Query Language and LINQ.
- Implement an online membership application that is based on the provided paper questionnaire.
- Implemented and customized the ASP.NET membership database by implementing new views and stored procedures that support the website’s membership and login portals.
- Implemented a complete administrator portal that allows users to create and upload event photo albums, create and manage new events.
- Implement role based email system using web and desktop clients. Implementing Multi-lingual features using local and global resource files.
- Integrated hdwih.com with the PayPal API for .Net that helps client who have signed up for a paid membership to submit payments with a PayPal account at the end of the online application process.
- Integrated hdwih.com with the Word Press blogging engine to allow users to post blogs and customize content.
Sept 09, 2009 to Jan 9,2015:
Social Security Administration Headquarters
Office Enterprise Architecture & Software Engineering
6401 Security Boulevard Woodlawn, MD 21235
Role: Software Engineer
- I served as the lead developer and systems integration architect in all Enterprise Metadata related development including designing the domain layer and the data access layer using the repository pattern for all common business processes.
- I have experience engineering software by promoting the extreme programming practices specifically, continuous integration and small releases, collective code ownership and leading iteration planning meetings.
- I successfully implemented service oriented architecture that bridges the individual metadata ETL systems by self-hosting WCF trigger services with dynamic base address configuration and net/tcp bindings. The WCF services are consumed by Java and .Net clients across the Social Security Administration using both RESTful and SOAP.
- I Engineered the API to the Enterprise Metadata Repository which uses complex communication sequences to pull data from source code manager residing on the Z/os platform to the Windows environment using technologies such as WebSphere MQ for Java, SOAP web services and TCP/IP.
- I designed and implemented an ASP.NET MVC application that allows users to upload their COBOL source code packages for scanning or request a specific set of COBOL or Assembler programs to be scanned and loaded in the repository for impact analysis.
Intranet/Web
- I implemented the enterprise metadata search engine based of the Lucene API
- I modeled the components participating in the extraction of data from multiple sources using a data structure inheritance model which allows all indexed data to be searched on by a google like search ASP.Net web interface using the agency’s enterprise user experience framework with 508 compliancy.
Data
- I have worked with Database Administrators to design, develop and/or update databases as they relate to web applications.
- Collaborate with the database support branch to manage and develop new database structures in DB2 for the enterprise metadata repository in a coordinated fashion then migrate the changes up the lifecycle after regression testing.
- I have worked with database administrators to design, implement and test reuse rule stored procedures.
- I have worked with the database administrators and enterprise data architect to design and develop the enterprise metadata load database (SQL Server) which includes entities that house information for batch processing loads and tables that help drive the intranet load automation website.
- In preparing for a possible end of life of the CA repository metadata management tool, I researched, proposed and developed a pluggable metamodel architecture.

- Write business rules for new processes.
- Design and present prototype for transition recruiters for feedback and recommendations.
- Design, Implement and administer materials management and event management information systems using Microsoft access and the .NET framework, including analyzing requirements, user interaction, designing the data structure and the user interface.
- Designing queries which performed calculations to increment and decrement specific types of materials from the materials warehouse after each request.
- Design complex queries for reports that supported the decision making of all transitions coordinators.
- Imported and exported data from and to Microsoft excel and Microsoft Outlook to facilitate data and report distribution to external sources. Create manuals and functional flow charts for staff training including oral presentations for system demonstration.
- Adding new functionalities to all systems as requested by managers and coordinators.
